Winstrol is the common commercial brand of the anabolic steroid called stanozolol. It is probably one of the most used anabolic steroids worldwide. It became notorious due it was the cause for the positive anti-doping test of Ben Johnson.

Recent medical studies show that stanozolol steroid (aka Winstrol) inhibits leptin secretion in females, but not in male samples of omental adipose tissue in vitro.
Leptin is the product of the product of the obesity gene. Leptin is a 16 kDa protein hormone that plays a key role in regulating energy intake and energy expenditure, including the regulation (decrease) of appetite and metabolism.
